Buy Piroxicam Gel Online — A Topical Anti-Inflammatory

Piroxicam gel is a topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that provides targeted pain relief for aches and pains. Unlike traditional tablet-based treatments, Piroxicam gel is applied directly to the affected area, reducing the risk of side effects.

As a powerful prescription-only NSAID, piroxicam also helps to reduce swelling in addition to providing pain relief. This makes it an effective treatment option for a variety of conditions, including strains, sprains, rheumatism, and arthritis.

To order piroxicam through The Independent Pharmacy, just answer a simple online questionnaire and submit it for review by our medical team. Once your assessment is complete, they’ll arrange delivery directly to your door as soon as the next working day.

What is piroxicam gel used for?

Piroxicam gel is commonly used to treat conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, and other joint pains, as well as sports injuries like sprains and strains.

The active ingredient in Piroxicam gel, piroxicam, works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, which are responsible for causing pain and inflammation. Piroxicam gel is a popular alternative to oral NSAIDs (such as naproxen or ibuprofen), as it offers localized pain relief with fewer side effects.

Is piroxicam gel stronger than ibuprofen gel?

Although piroxicam gel and ibuprofen gel are both effective in relieving pain and inflammation, their efficacy may vary depending on several factors, such as the severity of your pain, the location of the affected area, and how your body responds to them.

They also contain different active ingredients. Piroxicam gel contains piroxicam, while ibuprofen gel contains ibuprofen. Both medications work by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, which are responsible for causing pain and inflammation.

There are limited studies comparing the strength of piroxicam gel and ibuprofen gel. However, some studies suggest that piroxicam gel may provide longer-lasting pain relief. Ultimately, the choice between the two medications will depend on your medical history, the specific condition you’re treating, and the advice of your pharmacist or doctor.

Is piroxicam gel available over the counter?

Piroxicam is a prescription medication and can only be obtained with a valid prescription from a qualified pharmacist or GP.

While NSAIDs are generally considered safe when used as directed, like all medications, they can cause side effects in some people. To ensure the safe and appropriate use of piroxicam gel, you’ll need a qualified professional to evaluate your medical history, current medications, and symptoms before receiving a prescription for piroxicam.

Is piroxicam good for pain?

Piroxicam gel is a clinically-effective pain reliever belonging to a class of drugs called NSAIDs, which are best suited for treating conditions involving inflammation or swelling. While other NSAIDs may be taken orally, piroxicam gel is applied topically, making it an ideal choice for patients suffering from:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Joint inflammatory disease
  • Gout
  • Sports injuries such as strains or sprains.

However, if you’re experiencing a different type of pain, such as a migraine, sore throat, or toothache, paracetamol is generally considered to be more appropriate

How piroxicam gel works

Piroxicam gel belongs to a class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which work by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins; substances in the body that contribute to pain and inflammation.

When applied topically, piroxicam is absorbed through the skin and enters the underlying tissues, where it works locally to reduce inflammation and pain, making it particularly effective for localized pain relief, such as joint pain and muscle pain.

Topical NSAIDs are often considered to be a safer alternative for individuals who may be at higher risk of experiencing side effects from oral NSAIDs, such as stomach upset, ulcers, or kidney problems. This is because topical NSAIDs are absorbed locally at the site of application, and only a small amount is absorbed into the body. Compared to other medicines, topical NSAIDs are also less likely to interact with other drugs, making them a suitable option for people taking multiple medications.

How do I use piroxicam gel?

To use piroxicam gel, follow these general steps:

  • Wash your hands and the affected area with soap and water and dry thoroughly.
  • Squeeze a small amount of gel onto your fingertip
  • Gently massage the gel into the affected area until it’s completely absorbed.
  • Wash your hands after applying the gel and replace the cap.

Apply piroxicam gel three or four times a day. If there is no improvement in your symptoms, tell your doctor.

Do not rub your medication into damaged skin, for example wounds, scratches, infections or
dermatitis. Do not apply near eyes, nose, mouth, genital or anal (bottom) areas. If the Gel does
come into contact with these areas, rinse away with water.

Always use piroxicam gel as directed in your prescription, according to the instructions in the Patient Information Leaflet contained within the product packaging.

If you experience any side effects or have any questions about how to use piroxicam gel, consult your pharmacist or doctor.
