Anusol Plus HC Information

What is Anusol Plus HC?

Anusol Plus HC is a haemorrhoid treatment that is used to instantly relieve discomfort, soothe the anal itching and shrink both internal and external piles or haemorrhoids.

You can buy Anusol Plus HC if you are over 18 years old and suffer from anal itching or piles. It can be bought as either a suppository that is inserted into the rectum or as an ointment. Each 15 g tube of ointment comes with a screw-on nozzle making it much easier and hassle-free to treat even internal piles.

What is Anusol Plus HC used for?

Anusol Plus HC is an effective treatment for anal itching as well as internal and external piles, offering almost instant relief after every use.

Piles are swollen blood vessels in and around the anus. They are relatively common but can cause some people to feel embarrassed and are often very uncomfortable and itchy. Piles sufferers often find that eating more fibre, drinking plenty of water and getting regular exercise can reduce the risk of developing new piles.

If you are unsure whether you are currently suffering from piles you should see a doctor for advice before using any form of medicine to treat your condition.

How does Anusol Plus HC work?

Anusol Plus HC offers relief from anal itching and internal and external piles using 4-way action. Both the suppositories and ointment contain 5 active ingredients which work together to treat and soothe symptoms.

  • Hydrocortisone acetate: a corticosteroid that reduces swelling and inflammation.
  • Zinc oxide & Bismuth salts: help to shrink and constrict the piles and is an antiseptic that soothes and protects broken skin.
  • Balsam Peru & Benzyl Benzoate: a mild antiseptic that protects broken areas of skin and aids healing.

If you do not notice an improvement in your piles within 7-days of using Anusol Plus HC you should consult with a doctor or pharmacist for further advice.

Anusol Plus vs Anusol Plus HC

Anusol Plus is another effective treatment for internal and external piles. It is also available as both ointment and suppositories. The only difference between Anusol Plus and Anusol Plus HC is that the former does not contain the ingredient hydrocortisone acetate. Hydrocortisone is a topical corticosteroid that helps to relieve inflammation that often occurs in piles.

If you are unsure as to whether using a product containing hydrocortisone is the right choice for you, you should discuss your treatment options with a doctor or pharmacist.
