Bettamousse Information

What is Bettamousse?

Bettamousse cutaneous foam is a corticosteroid mousse treatment containing Betamethasone. It is used to reduce irritation and inflammation caused by scalp psoriasis, quickly soothing the skin while decreasing visible redness and flaking.

Manufactured by RPH Pharmaceuticals, this is easy-to-use foam, that can be prescribed for adults over the age of 18 years. It is fast-acting and proven to deliver noticeable results in just 7 days.

What is Bettamousse used for?

Bettamousse foam is an effective steroid treatment for dry skin conditions that affect the scalp, including scalp psoriasis. Quickly reducing inflammation, easing tight, sore skin, helping to calm itching and redness and preventing the skin from becoming damaged or infected.

What is scalp psoriasis?

Psoriasis is a dry skin condition that causes red, scaly, dry and itchy patches of skin and is a result of the skin cells being replaced more quickly than they should be.

Psoriasis can affect anywhere on the body, but the scalp is one of the most commonly affected areas, either in part or the whole scalp. People who suffer from psoriasis on their scalp often experience intense itching and occasionally temporary hair loss, which can generate feelings of embarrassment or self-consciousness.

Bettamouse is a prescription-only treatment for scalp psoriasis. If you are unsure whether you are suffering from psoriasis, anywhere on your body, you should speak to a doctor or pharmacist for advice about your treatment option.

How does Bettamousse work?

Betamethasone is a corticosteroid or steroid that is used in Bettamousse foam to help reduce inflammation and irritation caused by dry scalp conditions. It is applied directly to the affected skin and works by counteracting the body’s inflammatory response, preventing the cells from releasing histamine chemicals, which in turn stops redness, itching and irritation.

How quickly does Bettamouse work?

When Bettamousse foam is used as directed by your doctor, you should see a noticeable improvement in the condition of your scalp within 7 days. If your skin does not appear less red, dry and flaky and feels more soothed and calm within 1 week you should stop using this treatment and seek further advice from your doctor.
